With its U.S debut, the Kia Sorento is greeted with additional hybrid and offroad-oriented X-Line models.
The Sorento’s base engine is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four with 191hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight speed automatic transmission, with both front or all wheel drive variants. The upgrade engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four with 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, which is also available with front- or all-wheel drive and uses an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The hybrid model can only be availed in an FWD variant, and comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four combined with an electric motor for a net total of 227 horsepowers. A plug-in hybrid with standard AWD will arrive in 2021 with more power and mileage.
