Revealed at the Beijing auto show in China, Honda’s e:concept SUV is the Japanese automaker’s preview of their incoming EV expansion plans. Thus far, not much has been revealed except for the fact that it’s an electric crossover.
This will be Honda’s first electric vehicle for the Chinese market, and there is no news whether this will make its way across the world. Judging by the design, this doesn’t look anything like Honda’s recent EV, the Honda e, which may lead one to believe that this is part of another plan.
Honda has said that it plans to share battery technology and vehicle platforms with General Motors, which recently detailed its Ultium battery packs, so it’s possible that this EV SUV will be a product of that collaboration.
We can expect Honda to provide more information about this EV crossover as it nears production for China, possibly sometime next year.
