Acura to apply Type S treatment on all future models

With this year’s Acura TLX, Acura brought back the Type S marque, this time powering the TLX through a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 delivering 355hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.

According to the brand’s chief, Jon Ikeda, all future Acuras will receive the Type S performance treatment with more variants on the way.

“The equity we want to put on Type S is huge,” he said. “Yes, we want to put Type S on everything.”

A recent leaked video revealed that an MDX Type S is next in line. It will be based on a redesigned MDX due later this year, and although not much information has been revealed, it is likely to come in a hybrid and/or the same variant as the TLX Type S.
